The Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJRTOC) program was established to instill in U.S. secondary school students the values of citizenship, service to our country, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.  At the Farragut High School NJROTC unit, we focus on leadership, physical fitness, team work, good work habits, and discipline.  We encourage good study habits and provide mentors for cadets that find academics challenging.  Our instructors as well as senior cadets do their best to set your child up for success.

Our unit provides free ACT prep through a program offered by the Navy. We also offer ACT/SAT booklets that can be checked out from the unit.  We frequently participate in off-campus academic, athletic, drill, and air rifle meets throughout the county, state, and occasionally other parts of the country.  We are very active with community service projects, such as working at Second Harvest food bank, adopting Concord Park, and participating in the Town of Farragut creek cleaning project.

We do not recruit for the military, nor is any military commitment required to join the NJROTC – in fact, we most strongly encourage cadets to attend college after graduation.  Our goal is to instill those core values in our students that will serve them well in whatever path they choose after high school, with the hope that they will become a successful, contributing member of the community.

For more information about our NJROTC program, please contact Lieutenant Commander Bob Cosby or Master Sergeant Jimmy Johnson at 777-2873.
